Baton Rouge Neighborhood Spotlight: Best Trick-or-Treating Spots

It’s spooky season in Baton Rouge, and one of my favorite things about October is seeing our neighborhoods come alive with fall decorations, glowing pumpkins, and kids running door-to-door in their best costumes. Whether you’ve got little ones eager to fill their candy bags or you just love being part of the community fun, trick-or-treating is a tradition that brings us all together.

So where are the must-visit spots for trick-or-treating in Baton Rouge? Here are a few neighborhoods that really get into the spirit:

Woodridge (of course!)

Our neighborhood has such a fun, welcoming vibe every Halloween. You’ll find porches decked out in pumpkins, neighbors handing out candy with a smile, and plenty of safe streets for families to stroll.

Shenandoah

This one’s a classic! Shenandoah is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, and on Halloween night, you’ll see streets full of trick-or-treaters and houses really leaning into the décor.

University Club & Highland Lakes

These neighborhoods love to go all out. Think haunted-house-style decorations, fog machines, and full-size candy bars. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re up for some extra fun.

Old Goodwood

A Baton Rouge favorite featuring tree-lined streets, historic homes, and neighbors who know how to make Halloween feel magical. It’s a great area for families who want a mix of treats and atmosphere.

Safety First!

Wherever you go this Halloween, remember to stick to well-lit areas, wear something reflective, and keep an eye out for traffic. Most neighborhoods are great about slowing things down, but it never hurts to be extra careful.
